Import Export Code (IEC)
The Import Export Code (IEC) is a mandatory business identification number required for companies or individuals involved in international trade. IEC is issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
The IEC allows businesses to import goods into India or export goods and services internationally. Without an IEC, businesses cannot legally engage in cross-border trade transactions.
